It's Sunday again. For no reason, I've been sleeping at those weird hours again, or perhaps they have never been reverted at all. Ask about my academic progress, the answer is a shameful stagnancy. But for now, given my personality, it's only one way- put them behind me now! Because orientation is priority! Haha! I called quite a number of the people, but there were a few which we couldn't get through. Hope you guys saw the website then. Tomorrow's our day! Xcion!!!!
Today I had church, but I woke up like super late. 830, so I was late. Somehow an internal conflict occur within me while I was travelling. Many a times I convince myself things happen because God allows them to, and nly because of that. Then very often, that also become one of the excuse we use to defend our own doing. Today I was late, but why? Because God allows them to? Well, that should never be the answer. Because God is so wonderful and nice to us, so how could we push all the blame to Him. Then what is? God gave us free will. In this earthly world, another being govern the place and his name is devil. devil and free will together make us make the wrong decision. While God has the ability to create miracles, He rather give us free will because He so love us. But us, being so unworthy of even a small fraction of His love, were so unable to withstand even the smallest temptation. I complain I am tired, but compared to our Lord, what amount of pain is that!
Today's sermon was a continuation of last week's, same speaker and same book- Doctor Soh and 1 Peter chapter 2. The scriptures were described as spiritual milk/food. No matter how mature we are, no matter how many times we finish reading the bible, there is never graduation, neither completion. For bible study is not a course neither is it a book. It's the only food to sustain our spiritual life. And like food, we cannot only depend on milk. But instead we got to move on to congee, solid food etc. Thus at each spiritual level, there's always a new understanding of the scriptures.
1. Drink pure spiritual mile
2. We are living stones
3. Christ the corner stone and stumbling block
4. We are strangers and aliens to this world
5. Submit to authorities for the Lord's sake
6. Follow Christ to suffer for righteousness sake
These are the points outlined in today's sermon. The youth were having an outing to Pulau Ubin, but I decided to omit myself from going. Tomorrow's the orientation, so I think I should go home and rest for the big day. On the way home, I read the bible again, and coincidentally, I came across a very relevant interpretation - listening is absorbing and accepting information about God. Learning is understanding its meaning and implications. Obeying is putting into action all we have learned and understoo.
Father Lord, I pray that You will pour Your favour unto Xcion so that we will be able to perform to our best, and leave a legacy of our own. I so desire to glorify your name, and I pray that all that we've done and will be doing will be pleasing to you, and despite the absence of explicit revelations, I pray that all our doings will glorify your name in any and many ways. Father Lord, I also pray that You will bless tomorrow's orientation on the whole, that You will send your angels to look after the new and old, that your angels will guide us through any diversion, for I know that You are a loving God. Daddy God, You love us before we love you. So despite the existence of many non-followers amongst our midst, I know your desire to win them over. Thus, Father Lord, I pray that on this beginning of a new school term, may you perform many miracles to deal many solid blows onto the hearts of the obstinate ones. So that they will be convinced that it is through You that we live. Thank you Father for always remaining in us. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
