Sunday. Last night, my desire to come to church was half-hearted. Perhaps I really need a rest before school reopens, or perhaps it was due to some other reasons. But I told Jiaen I would go today nevertheless, only to stood her up last minute. I sincerely pray to God for forgiveness about this, and may You grant me the strength to win the battle with the devil, for I know that the despicable devil is capable of doing anything to stop me from getting to know You better. Father, I pray that You will help grant me the strength, and win the battle for me. In Jesus name I pray, amen. I woke up at 830 in the morning, didn't quite like the idea of being late, thus decided to sleep in. Joc and Jiaen dialed me up at noon to ask me if I wanna join them for lunch. Lacklustre effort I sensed. It would be so nice to join them I know, but the work jsut creep back in. Yes, geography! Gosh! It's just so much! Been doing the summary since afternoon, and all. Progress's been well, allowing me to complete 2 out of 3. The last one's a little confusing I shall see how.
Anyway, Man Utd demolished Chelsea 3-0 at Old Trafford! That's like the best start to their title chase for the year. Well, both teams started out strong, featuring a full strength squad. Perhaps Ferdinand's absence and the previous match's scorer, Kalou's absence were the minor suprise. Anyway, junior J.Evans, being deputised in place of Ferdinand, had a solid game, silencing Chelsea's attack, by nullifying numerous forward runs! A good performance indeed.
My man of the match, however, goes to Park Ji Sung, for craving out numerous opportunities for Man Utd, and I feel that the first goal owed much credit to him, after creating havoc in the Chelsea's defence, shaking their confidence. Otherwise, Ryan Giggs (utilised as a CM), Berba and Evra all played well. Captain Nevile did numerous goal-saving tackle, and was often seen at the centre of the park. This must be one of his best games this season. And Ryan Giggs occasional run reminded me of their famous win over Barcelona during the Beckham era. He even outran Bosingwa! Fancy a twilight player carried on his 34 going 35 year old leg, outrunning a player in the peak of his career! Giggs is a true Man Utd legend! First goal came from my favourite CB in the soccer world! Vidic! I anticipated his first EPL goal tonight, and it really came! After a denial to Ronny's goal, he scored from a Berba touch down from Gigsy's corner! Yes! Giggs again!
Second half started with some icings to the cake! It was only minutes into the game when Rooney hammered away an Evra's cross! Yeap, Ronny sprang back to life after half time, leading Man Utd on numerous counter attacks! Indeed, Ashley Cole and Bosingwa kept him quiet for most of the first half, but second halg surely revitalise him! A sublime flick to Evra, who crosses in (a little too high for Berba) just nice for the running Rooney to hammer away. 2-0! My guess was correct! Joel was a little reserved about Man Utd beating Chelsea by a huge score line earlier on! But I emphasised on that belief, quoting Roma's trashing as an example, and it really happened! But it was really a little unbelievable, so I told Roy that Man Utd will score one moe goal soon. Well, that was to see if I'm really that spot on, and 2-0 already seemed a very decent scoreline against top notch (might not be anymore) Chelsea. So that was only a word of mouth. But with minutes to go, a Ronny's cross found Berba in the centre of the penalty area, firing away. 3-0! Alright, that was the final scoreline, but before that, there should have been another goal which Ronny rightfully scored from a Rooney's throuhh ball, only to be ruled off-side by the referee. Well, replay showed that it ought to have been counted! Final score should be 4-0, but 3-0 looked decent, and it satisfied my guess spot on, didn't it! =P Watch out Reds, because the true Reds are coming! Did you hear the rattling of the devil?
