Wednesday, August 13, 2008So Alpha-Beta House function has been a runaway success, a very satisfying one indeed.
The cheese and nachos were my responsibility, and thanks to bao and her mom's helpfulness, I was given a free ride to the school. If not, I would not know how was I going to bring a box that's almost huge enough to put me in, to school on those packed morning buses. School was as dry as ever. Noon, I went to buy the stuffs last food stuffs with Matt. I had chachos for lunch.
The day finally started when school finally ended. It was a long long wait indeed. Hence, it being our very first function gave us the motivation to do really well. I was practically rushing between two venues all the time, sports complex to HC room, back to sports complex. It was really hectic, though I enjoy such things a lot. I mean all of us working really hard together to get our common goal done. It's the common identity.
There were numerous occassion where time became really pressing because of missing people and missing stuffs, but we have all managed to get it done in time anyhow. Food was messy, but when everything came in place, and when the cheese was finally heated, and when the first wrap was finally made. It was pure satisfaction! Especially when the food tasted so superb, just like that of the KFC's. Cheese was a constant temptation to me. I mean cheese is like the nicest thing on earth, and seeing a creamy potful of it in front of me was really hard to resist. At around 430, the function sparked off with a huge bang. It was only a matter of minutes when the entire sports gallery was influxed with flowing crowds. Wrap was selling fast, so were the nachos. So the food was a huge success.
In the other part of the gallery, I know the games were also a big success too. Though I was not there to witness, but laughters, cheers and all. I was not oblivious to them=). After all our hardwork, days of staying back until so late to prepare the pinatas, and being deemed as slacking when people said pinata-making was an easy job. Frankly, it was not at all that. Those people who only have their plight as plight, and other's plight as complaints would never understand. But after all that we've received, all efforts had finally paid off. Towards the end, I had the interview for OBI. It didn't go as well as I thought it would be, but it was still good? At least the OAC TIC did not pick on me for quitting from it.
After that, I returned to help with the cleaning up of stuffs, but everything was almost done. So there was a sudden craze of photo-taking in the HC room, and we took many snap shots, until it was almost 8 that we finally called it a day. Then, we pused the cart back to Sheng Siong, and the gang went to have dinner at KFC, while I made my way home. It was a runaway success, but I was kind of emo. Maybe I was too tired, and miss someone just so much...
