16th May 2008. All of us decided to come school early to help Krystal to unload our camping stuffs at the scope area. Meeting time was 0700h. Then we threw all the things in one of the holes behind the stage under LT1. Lessons for the day was pretty slack, or rather, I wasn't in the mood of attending any lectures or tutorials, because I was looking forward to that thing. After school, there were many things we had to do. Attend briefing/rehearsal for investiture, get dispenser from AHS, buy dinner etc. But the major event only started at about 1800h, when every minor thing was done. It looked like a military camp initially when the ICs shouted at us all kind of commands and scoldings. It was especially awkward when the ex-OAC mates were at the other side of the Sports Complex witnessing the process of me getting scolded together with the others. But soon, that was over. It was over after approximately 2 hours. Then we attended a curriculum talk, followed by a night walk back in my home town- Tampines. Frankly, I didn't like the night walk, for one because we were split from our house, two because walking on uneven ground in darkness was definitely not fun, and three getting deceived just felt suck. The IC was telling us that if we were fast enough, we might be able to catch the last bus back to school, else we would have to walk back. To think I was naive enough to believe that. It was all a plot. They told us that so that we will have a common goal and push ourselves to make it before time, but when we were ready, they tried to delay instead so that we would miss the bus. Evidence one- the specific routes to be taken by each house were nicely planned. Evidence two- last bus for 38 had yet to leave when we reach the interchange. It was all planned! Thus, we had to walk all the way back to TJ from Tampines, and lucky enough, we got the second longest route. Good for us. All other houses got back in time, but ours failed, because injury to our house-mate hindered us to jog back. Therefore, needless to say, we got reprimanded again. The day ended at 0300+h the next morning. What a day!
