17th May 2008 (day 2)This must be the day I've been looking forward to all days, because of all the things I heard from my classmates, about the kind of things we are going to do during the Amazing race. Despite sleeping at 0300h the previous night, that day I woke up spontaneously at 0730h, half an hour before the instructed time. I woke my friends up and took our time to wash up before reporting with the others. We had morning PT which was quite tough. I pulled through the leopard's crawl and push ups before the stitches launched a super vicious attack on me. Actually I already had the stitches the previous night, but I thought it would subside soon. True enough, it subsided, only to relapse to a higher scale the next day. Hence, during the jumping jack, I had to fall out to do some half-squats plus twinkles before falling back to join the rest. For the remaining events, I pulled through them all, despite minor signs of the relapsing of the stitch. After that, we had a house breakfast, where I only ate a slice of bread, because the butter was simply too dry.Soon, we set off for amazing race. That was when the big watermelon came into play. At any point of time, one person from the group was supposed to use only one hand to carry it, and was only allowed to put it down when given the instruction to do so. But eventually, we didn't really bother though=PRunning with the watermelon was the toughest. We had many other activities, but the most fun and memorable one was when our new house cap, Theen Yew had to wear a red bra, and a black stocking on his head to walk from Eunos all the way back to Bedok. He was like, " Tiong, give me the bad. I want to block." But I was like, "don't want!" Bleahx! I'm evil. So he had to just walk back like that loh=PAnother activity was our lunch. That station we had to have our lunch, and the task was to finish 24 slices of Roti Prata in 5 minutes. 10 of us, meaning each person had to eat like 3 or 4. We were super full, but a soft drink was definitely a treat after so much torments. Our last station was yet again to eat. By then, I was already super full, yet I've to stuffed half a plate of chicken rice down my poor stomach, to a point that my maximum capacity was met. To complete the event, we had to smashed the watermelon and eat it all up. Instruction was that only the house captain was allowed to use his hand. That was when we became a bunch of barbaric warriors=PAt the later part of the day, we had this field-cooking cum cooking competition. Most of our food came out better than expected and the TangYuan (flour ball) was the best according to feed-backs. The not so nice one would have to be the sardine, because when I ate it, the inside was cold. Eww.. Although we didn't win the overall champion, our presentation was the best! Yay, we rock!Night time we had night PT. It was the ultimate I heard. We were made to do all sorts of things like hanging on the monkey bar for 16 minutes. We also had the dragon push-up durign which Theen Yew slipped and smashed my new specs. Luckily, it was fixable. That night, everyone was super moody and I felt really bad for my intolerance, so I apologised to them. It was a day where a lot of misunderstanding occurred. During times of adverse conditions, sometimes people say things which they don't mean it, so we have to learn to forgive and forget. Get on with life=)On a lighter note, I was also pretty happy that day because Teresa told me that I helped her pull through the leopard's crawl. I did not do anything. In fact, I wasn't even with them when the girls did the leopard's crawl. Hence, I was a little confused. And she told me that before the camp I told her that I'm not strong, but I've endurance. And this kept ringing in her ears when she did the leopard crawl, helping her to get through, so she was thankful. No problem, Teresa! I never know my casual remark would be so impactful=P
